hello,
my car wouldn't start so i turned everything off and meaured the battery voltage ...it was 10V. Do y'all think i should re-accuse it , or does 10V mean its ruined forever ?

"Store always at a full state-of-charge. Do not shop beneath 2.10V/cell; use topping charge very 6 months."

I think it explains everything.

Is your car bombardment more five years one-time?
Does your car plow off everything if you forget?

yep, everything was turned off.
i tin't empathise how its so apartment, i collection it fine 4 days ago...and then 2 days ago i got in and information technology seemed completely flat.
there was a flake of common cold conditions in great britain of belatedly simply non that common cold

An former battery may spontaneously fail. You'll find out the bodily battery condition, after yous tried to recharge it. With an former one, it may exist waste of time.

hi, i re-charged information technology with a cheap charger.
the charger was 2.7 Amps DC.
The bombardment became fully charged (or rather the green "fully charged" LED came ON) after 7 hours.
When fully charged , its voltage open up cct is at present ~12.6V
That doesnt seem long for a 200Ah battery
(Battery is "Fiamm L1 200")
Do you call back its ruined ?
I'grand wondering about driving anywhere in it in instance it dies when i'm at the destination

If possible measure the specific gravity of the electrolyte in all cells, should be about the same in all cells (1.27 – 1.28). Check if you accept whatsoever electric current "leaks" by disconnecting the negative wire from the battery (everything shut off in the vehicle) and connect a bulb between the wire and the battery, if the bulb comes on you lot have a consumer which drains your battery. The voltage (12.6) seems ok so yous should be able to starting time you motorcar again. 200Ah is a very large bombardment for a machine, more similar a truck size battery. "Normal" cars usually take from 60 to 110 Ah (90 and up for diesels).

measure the voltage when you apply a load, Eg Engine not running, plow on all your head lights, at present measure the voltage, if it immediately drops to 10V or less, i
or more of the cells in the bombardment is DEAD.
A very adept bombardment, though a bit discharged should creepo a vehicle whilst its terminal voltage drops to 10volts....
200ah is indeed a very very very large battery for a car though.

In my opinion there's still one chemical element in brusk-circuit...When fully charged , its voltage open cct is now ~12.6V
Usually you may accept 2.4V per element at full accuse, that'due south a total of fourteen.4V for a vi elements pack.

Hai friend. Yous try these remedies and tests. Starting time measure the specific gravity of the acid. Be sure you lot have enough electrolyte with proficient gravity. Try charging the bombardment with the charger having atleast x% of the total bombardment capacity in Ampheres. Connect a 10 amp ammeter in sieres to the posetive line and see wether it drops to "zero" indicating total charge. If it doesn't, practise that within 12-16 hours, your bombardment is GONE. If information technology does come to "Zero" well your bombardment passed get-go exam. A fully charged 12 volts bombardment should measure 13.2v to 13.8v with fully charged status. Secondly after getting total charged, try to crank the engine. If it does, for consecutive 4-five attempts, the battrey is 90% ok. If it doesnt crank more than than 1-ii times, so i strongly recommend to replace it.
